The Ticonderoga Bicentennial Clock on Montcalm Street is one of those local features that we tend to take for granted or actually overlook…it seems like it has always been there!  Maybe you see it out of the corner of your eye driving through town…glance at it as you pass by, or maybe you don’t even notice it until you really want to know the time.  When you actually do take a closer look at it, you realize just how cool it really is.

About the clock…

clock1000xThe Ticonderoga Bicentennial clock is located on a corner at the intersection of Montcalm Street and Champlain Avenue south of the bank building.  This distinctive 16 foot, 4-dial street clock was purchased in 2004 from the Fancy Street Light Co. of Rock Island IL with money raised by the community as part of the 200-year anniversary Bicentennial celebration.  The purchase price in 2004: $10,000.

The addition of the clock in the downtown replaced two earlier clocks that were removed, one on the old State Bank of Albany building, and one that was on the old Mill that was located downtown.
