All Aboard on November 29th, 2014 for the annual arrival of the Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train in Ticonderoga NY!
With 14 cars and thousands of lights, along with open boxcars that operate as stages for live concerts at each stop, the Holiday Train visits over 150 communities across the continent. Ticonderoga can expect the train at 3:00pm on November 29th, and Port Henry NY can expect an arrival at 4:45pm.
The Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train travels with a mission: to raise awareness of hunger in the United States and Canada. Audiences at each stop are urged to help with the train’s purpose of “making a difference, one stop at a time,” by donating either money or food items that stay within the community. Some requested food items include: infant formula, canned vegetables and meats, and spaghetti sauce.
In its 16th year, the CP’s Holiday Train will feature Canadian country singer Tracey Brown, a 1999 Juno award nominee for Best Country Female Vocalist, along with other musical talents. Over 9 million dollars and 3 million pounds of food have been collected since the train’s first run in 1999.
At each event, the Holiday Train provides a box car stage, a line-up of great musical talents and a corporate contribution to the local food bank.
Be sure to arrive at the Amtrak station early as train arrival times can vary up to 15 minutes. Bring the whole family with some hot cocoa and join Ticonderoga for some good, old-fashioned holiday fun at 3pm on November 29th at the arrival of the Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train!
